Located in Ihwari, Ujeong-eup, Hwaseong-si, Mindeulle Theater Village is Korea’s first rural tourism village built around theater experiences. Here, visitors can explore Korean culture and nurture their artistic imagination through theater-based play rooted in rural traditions.

One of the village’s signature events is the Pumasi Performing Arts Festival, held every August. This pure performing arts festival transforms natural spaces into open-air theaters, presenting a variety of performances that blend with the surrounding environment.

From April to October, every Saturday, the village’s unique “theater in nature” opens its doors to special performances and immersive programs. These offerings combine rural culture, nature, and the arts into one-of-a-kind experiences that continuously evolve with new ideas and productions.

On August 6, 2025, K-Agrotourism Trip was held in Mindeulle Theater Village, a special side event of the APEC Food Security Ministerial Meeting. Organized by the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs and the Korea Rural Community Corporation, the event welcomed over 63 international APEC delegates to experience the heart of Korean rural tourism.

Participants enjoyed a curated program that highlighted the village’s cultural and artistic strengths:

Through these activities, the event introduced delegates to the warmth of Korean rural hospitality, the richness of its performing arts, and the flavors of its local cuisine—all set against the backdrop of a creative rural theater village.
