Mangyeongchon is a quiet countryside village nestled between Mount Mangyeong and the Nakdong River. The site was once an elementary school but has since been transformed into a rural experience and recreation village, now filled with the laughter of children and families.

Designated as one of Korea’s “Excellent Villages” (Eutteumchon) for its outstanding facilities, accommodations, and food programs, Mangyeongchon is especially popular in summer for its swimming pool, soccer and foot-volleyball courts, and barbecue areas. Meals prepared with fresh local produce grown by the villagers are another highlight of the experience.

Food Experiences: Black garlic jelly making, Injeolmi rice cake pounding (using a large wooden mallet), apple/garlic/pawpaw jam making, egg and apple tart baking, pizza making

Nature & Ecology: Plum picking in July, apple and persimmon harvesting in autumn, reed field exploration, stargazing at night

Senior-Friendly Programs: Scarecrow making, “throwing rubber shoes” game (a nostalgic pastime for older Koreans)

Mangyeongchon has more than 10 guesthouses, ranging from pension-style lodgings to main building rooms. Cleanliness and hygiene are prioritized, ensuring a safe stay.

Yuljeong Lake

Created during the Joseon Dynasty to serve as a waterway for diplomatic missions to Japan, this lake offers boat rides with scenic views of the Nakdong River. The ride lasts about 40 minutes.

Jomunguk Historic Site and Ancient Tombs

Binggye Valley (Binggye Provincial Park)
